Native to: Discovered in 1997 by Bob Ridgely, it was thought to be an endemic to Ecuador but has recently been found in northern Peru

IUCN Classification: This recently described species is ‘Endangered’ because it is known from very few locations, and has an extremely small range in which habitat destruction and degradation are occurring. Further surveys may find the species to be more widespread, perhaps resulting in a downlisting to Vulnerable (from IUCN Redlist)
